Javier...I just wanted to send a quick note, thanking you for helping us to surf.  Michelle and Mike were wonderful, extremely professional, super fun, and REALLY great motivators.  There were a few times when all I wanted to do was lie down on my board, but there was Mike, telling me to get ready for the next wave.  We had a blast!!

Javier took a small group of us on a seven day surf/camping trip to some of Mexico's most remote and beautiful beaches. I was immediately impressed with his interpersonal skills and knowledge of the coast line where he grew up surfing and camping. His presence made the trip, "worry free".

We surfed and toured some of best spots in mexico. I hope i can go back again and again on this trip. If you are planning a company trip to mexico and you need a guide or surf instructor i can not think of anyone i would rather have. I have used guides in many other areas of the globe, he ranks in the top 1%

Hello Javier!

My friends and I visited Puerto Vallarta from Chicago, Illinois of the United States. It was our first time to PV, and we really wanted to try surfing. Before my trip, I could barely boogie board, so being able to stand up and surf was truly an amazing and life rewarding experience! My friends and I could not have done it without your most patient and extremely talented instructors, Mike and Philipe. Our experience with Mike and Phillipe was the highlight of our trip, and we cannot wait to come back again!

Thanks again to you and the wild Mex crew for schooling me on the waves! Kurt and I are back home again but all I can think about is surfing. Couldn't have done it without all your help. You guys are the best!

Thank you for everything… we spent a wonderful time at and around Sayulita and it’s mostly because of the Wildmex staff. Philippe was such a fantastic guy and guide, we just have very good comments for him!

We still can’t believe all the great places we’ve been and all the unforgettable things we did… It’s so hard to come back to the reality now!

What do you get when you combine six teenagers and two 45+ year-old adults with one incredible surf school? You get a PERFECT surf vacation. Everyone in our group was up and surfing at will during the first lesson. Our instructors were fun, kind, professional, enthusiastic, and encouraging… not to mention cool. They seemed genuinely excited with our surfing success. We surfed every day and especially enjoyed our mid-week "surfari" road (and water) trip where we surfed an outside point break off a deserted beach until the sun had set. It was magical! Throughout the whole week Javier and his staff saw to it that we had everything we needed, and answered all of our questions from "who sells the best tacos?" to "where's that cliff jumping place?" to "how can we get to Marietta Island?" WildMex organized everything for us for a more-than-fair price and everything went without a hitch. We all can't wait to get back to Sayulita, and we'll definitely use WildMex again for all of our surfing and adventure needs!

 

The stars were aligned! I decided that I wanted to learn to surf and randomly asked a friend for a surf vacation recommendation. Without hesitation he suggested that I contact Javier Chavez at Wildmex in Sayulita, Mexico. After exchanging a few emails, Javier helped me find accommodation and decide on a flexible surfing package - I had never surfed and was not certain how things would go. Javier and his international staff provided safe and professional instruction, while allowing me to challenge myself. I surfed almost every day, and I exceeded my own expectations. The result is...I am hooked! Day trips took us out of Sayulita to remote and local area breaks, providing the opportunity to practice and surf in a variety of conditions. All of this, plus I had so much fun meeting new and interesting people in Sayulita and while surfing. I am still smiling! Javier, Mike and Sebastian pay special attention to customer service - for this reason I have already recommended Wildmex to friends as well as new acquaintances! Sayulita is a magical place with stunning beaches, incredible scenery and endless sunshine. But it is the people that make it truly special, from the street vendors, to the locals that are always laughing and sharing a chat in the square, to the wonderful activity operators like Javier Chavez from Wildmex. Upon meeting Javier, we knew we had found a like-minded soul who loved surfing and who especially loved to share his love of surfing with his guests. We've now spent 2 years with Javier and have come to know his staff, Michelle, Mike and Sebastien who share Javier's passion for service and warm-hearted connection and our only regret is that we didn't make our trip longer! Our trips to La Lancha and Buros (spelling?) will always stand out as some of the best memories, especially the time spent in between the waves, when we shared many a conversation and a laugh amongst us all. If your considering a surf vacation to Mexico I recommend Wildmex in Sayulita. Sayulita is about 35 minutes North of Puerto Vallarta. It's not your typical tourista village. You will get a full taste of Mexico culture. Javier Chavez, proprietor of Wildmex Wilderness Expeditions, runs a relaxing and unintimidating surfing operation right out the main beach in town. Also, he takes you on expeditions to remote beaches near the area where surf conditions are suited for the group. He and hi sstaff are experienced instructors who know the local conditions and know how to teach all levels of the sport. Our group had a combination of beginners and intermediates ages 13 - 48 that all learned from the experience. We experienced hikes through the jungle to access remote breaks, afternoon beach fires, cultural and local education and fantastic surf that surfers and nonsurfers alike could enjoy. Wildmex is a true cultural experience

I came out to Sayulita with a large group of friends and we were all novis surfers. The Wildmex staff was so accomodating! They stopped by our casa the morning of the lesson and made sure he had boards and gear that fit our needs. Our lessons were so much fun! He also took us on a day trip to a more secluded beach around sunset... It was AMAZING! We had the greatest time in Sayulita and Wildmex made our trip!

My 21 year-old daughter and I recently surfed with  Wildmex in Sayulita.  The instruction was for us.  I'm a beginner who has only surfed a couple times in recent years, while my daugther was surfing for her first time ever.  Our instructor started our lesson on the beach and then worked with us in the surf.  He demonstrated the proper techniques and then helped us develop and improve our own skills.  He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and a great teacher.  With his help, we both were able to surf some very nice waves and had a fun and memorable day.  I would recommend Wildmex to anyone looking to have a great time surfing, like we did!

Javier and the crew at WildMex were awesome!  Patient, knowledgable, and fun they were really able to put together an enjoyable and succesful first surfing trip.  They took care of everything!

Simply put, Javier of Wildmex MADE our trip to Sayulita! He supplied the boards, took us to some great beaches for beginner surfers, was a patient, competent, and punctual instructor. He talked to us about the history (and future) of the area and even found us a great place to stay. He took care of our group of 5 from beginning to end! I have already recommended Wildmex to other Canadian friends and they too returned from their surfing trip really happy - and in better shape than when they left.

I am a semi-pro mountain bike racer who traveled to Sayulita last Spring break with my wife, 15yr old daughter, and 13yr old son.  Javier helped me conduct a mini training camp where we mixed local sight seeing with training.  My rides included some road riding to Punta Mita mixed with days with Javier and Hugo, where they guided me through some great trails that often times lead to spectacular coastal vistas, beaches and jungle excursions.  One day he took my family for surfing lessons.  He took us to a beach that offered 3 different breaks to meet whatever ability we each had.  We had this incredible beach to ourselves and had a lifetime memorable experience .  All in all Javier made our trip in Sayulita fantastic and I would recommend Wildmex to anyone interested in Surfing or Mountain biking in the Nayarit area.

When you have a good guide, it completely makes your holiday an experience beyond your expectations. I booked Javier through his WildMex website knowing little about him and I have nothing but great things to say about him: organized, friendly, punctual, patient and a whole lot of fun. We were the ones who were disorganized and he managed to get us out to some of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to.

I had the great opportunity to learn to surf with Javier and his merry band of instructors. I am an ultra beginner (fearful of the ocean and no experience) but Javier took great care of me. There was an incredible ratio of 1:1 instructor to beginner surfers and it made all the difference in the world. Each instructor had a different style of helping me to visualize what I needed to get my body to do, which was wonderful when one technique was not working well. It was also amazing have an instructor with me for several hours which included breaks when I started to grow tired.

Javier was one of the most knowledgeable and thoughtful guides we have experienced during our many travels. His gentle and considerate attitude made for a wonderful experience. The mangroves we kayaked through with him were amazing beautiful and full of birds he was able to identify and elaborate about. It opened up a world in Mexico we wouldn't have discovered without him. We would highly recommend an adventure into the world of Javier and his crew.
